Bump on forehead -- could it be an embolism?

This thing just showed up about three days ago. At first, I thought it was a pimple, but realized that it's different. The real scary thing about it is that I can feel my pulse strongly if I put a finger on it. Feeling above the bump leads me to find that I do have a vein right there, and it would make sense that this is an enlarged part of that vein.

I went to the doctor yesterday and he quickly said that it was a cyst, but I feel like he was too quick to say that and doesn't really know what he's talking about.

I'm realy scared about this so if anyone has an educated opinion, I would be really grateful.

Well if it is a cyst. Doesn't the doctor think it needs to be checked out? I've never heard of a cyst with a pulse. Hope you get some answers.

there are many veins that go through the face, and it could simply be the vein u are feeling is clogged or stopped up. this could be the result of an infection, or it just happened.... the doc may be right though, i would get a 2nd opinion. good luck

Well he said that since I caught it early, the cyst could go away if I take the antibiotics that he prescribed.

But if it is a vein that's clogged up, how would I get that fixed?

I have had some veins clogged in other places, and i used antibiotics, it was called keflex. when i went to the doc, that is what she prescribed, it was a red pill. hope this helps. good luck
