Anyone taking Nexium or Aciphex?

I was diagnosed with GERD several months ago and put on Aciphex for several weeks to see if it would help. It worked very well. After my samples of Aciphex ran out, I didn't have many symptoms for about a month. Then the acid reflux gradually became worse than when I originally went to the doctor. He didn't have any samples of Aciphex, so he gave me samples of Nexium. In less than two days, I started having moderate stomach pain and stomach spasms. After three days, I stopped taking it. I'm waiting for my prescription of Aciphex to come in the mail. Has anyone had problems with Nexium? I thought both drugs were basically the same. I can't understand why the Nexium upset my stomach so badly. I'm hoping the Aciphex will work as well as it did previously. Is anyone having good luck with Aciphex? Comments will be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I have been taking asophex for almost 3 yrs. and have had no problems whatsoever. I don't have an actual diagnosis of GERD though. I just had "tons" of acid in my stomach and I coughed a lot. Those symptoms have disappeared. I have tried a few times to wean myself off the asophex but the coughing and burping will start up again. I hope this helps somewhat.

NOTSONUTSO: Thank you for taking the time to reply. So many times posts are not replied to. I'm glad Aciphex is helping you. I'm looking forward to starting the Aciphex again.

I'm not really sure I have acid reflux because I hardly ever have heart burn during the day, never feel chest pains or anything.........I just get really sick in the morning, throw up stomach acid, and can't eat until early evening or I get sick. I think it's some other digestive problem, sometimes it goes away for 4 months and then all of a sudden BAM it comes back. Anyway, whenever it comes back I get a prescription of Aciphex and I hardly ever get sick in the morning after taking it. The only minor side effect is my throat and mouth feels really dry when waking up and a little bit throughout the day.

I took Nexium for six months and had abdominal pains, severe ones, early in the morning that would wake me up. Aciphex made me burp continuously so I quit that after two weeks.
