i have just finished my 5th week of continuous bcp use and am taking low-ogestrel. i stopped taking yasmin due to horrible migraines when on the sugar pills. my doctor wants me to take low-ogestrel for 3 months and then put an estrogen patch on during the week of sugar pills due to migraines and see how that works.
i have tried continuous bcp use before on yasmin and had zero luck. the same thing is happening again. i had cramps all last week and a low grade headache. i started spotting about 4 days ago and it is getting progressively worse, like a light period.
i'm thinking of stopping all together but want to know if anyone has toughed it out and had any kind of success with continuous bcp use. i have been reading posts that say the bleeding can last for a long time. i had bleeding for 35 days straight on yasmin while trying continuous bcp use. i don't want to go through that again. can anyone tell me that has continued on the pill about how long it takes to adjust? i am 44 years old and take the pill due to irregular periods. i really don't want to stop taking the pill because it regulates my periods and makes them lighter and shorter. i have a real problem with the migraines though...something i didn't experience before i started taking the pill.
any suggestions would be helpful. thanks
