Off coffee....bad headaches

I just recently stopped drinking coffee and now I have pounding headaches every morning that last until about 2 or 3. It doesn't affect me at work, but it's just an annoyance to have. Anyone know of any ways to get rid of headaches naturally (I'm sick of popping pills) or any other drinks that could take the place of coffee that's better for you?

Re: Off coffee....bad headaches

I also stopped coffee. I would not only get horrible headaches, but would wake up nauseous. I used Tylenol which helped. I also used Benadry because I think I also had an allergy to the coffee which was what made me feel so bad. I tried going back on coffee because I craved it so much. I would say to myself, "I'll just have one cup." But, I never could stop at the one cup. I did this for a long time and finally decided that I felt so much better off it that I completely went off and feel so much better. I have never gone back to it because I now know it isn't for me. I will drink tea sometimes without caffeine. I do not drink any pops and anything with aspartame or additives. I stick with filtered water which is better for us anyhow. Hope this helps.

Bear with the headaches, they will eventually go. Also, make sure you're drinking enough water.

ABSOLUTELY!! A cup of green tea contains enough caffiene that it will prevent withdrawl headaches. Unless you have super major issues with caffiene, a couple cups a day won't hurt you. Besides, if you research what the negative side effects of caffiene are, you will find that the constituents of green tea are counter active to any detrimental effects caused by the caffiene itself.

Equally as important is drinking PLENTY of water.
