Post Loss of period after cryotherapy.....

I had a pre-cancerous lesion removed by LEEP from my cervix four years ago. My pap smears have all been normal until the most recent. My doctor did a colposcopy which showed that the growth had returned on the scar from the previous procedure. The area was small so she chose to freeze it off. My period was due the week following the procedure. It never came. I am now due again but no sign of it yet. I have taken two pregnancy tests to rule that out and both came out negative. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Maci.

Maci:
After having my colposcope I did not get my period either. I believe it was from the stress of the entire situation. I went to my GP anyway. Had my hormone levels done, which revealed that I had not ovulated, STRESS? I've been in perimenopause for the last 3 yrs, since I was 34. Isn't being female wonderful?! I really don't want to sound too negative but since I have been perimeno it doesn't take much stress at all for me to miss my period. I know it's difficult but try to relax if you can. Check in with your OBS/GYN doc and see what they think.
Good luck,
Shelly

Hi Shelly,

Thank you for your response. Funny thing is, I don't really feel stressed out at all. When I had the LEEP done four years ago, I was really nervous but this time the freezing took about 10 minutes and that was the end of it. No pain or anything. I am relieved that I am not completely abnormal though. The joy of womanhood.
