How many people get heart related symptoms?

How many of you get heart related symptoms but the doc's say it's anxiety but you don't actually feel anxious ie - don't have panick attacks.

My symptoms are pretty constant all the time and include shortness of breath, even at rest, racing pulse when I stand or do any light excercise, visual disturbances inc. floaters, flashers, blurry vision, chest tightness, throat and neck pressure etc etc etc. Although I'm worried about my health (have had tonnes of tests: ecg's, stress test ecg, Echo, blood tests, chest X rays and seen a number of specialists, although all the doc's say it's anxiety and not a physical problem). Trouble is I don't feel anxious, or at least my symptoms don't correspond with times of stress necessarily and I don't have panick attacks. Can't believe this is just anxiety -it makes me feel so very ill.
My symptoms are worse afte a large meal (whatever the meal is). I know I'm repeating myself with my posts but does this ring true with anyone - like do you get the same symptoms. Used to go to the gym but now my heart races if I even do the slightests excercise.
** I'm a 26 year old non smoker with no other health problems, am not overweight and have normal blood colesterol, pressure etc**

I started getting heart palpitations with my anxiety/panic attacks. I went to a cardiologist and he put me on a beta blocker. Not for high blood pressure, but for the palpitations that he said were caused strictly by anxiety!. I've been using a very low does of Atenelol for 3 years and can count on 1 hand the times my palpitations have bothered me.. Hope that helps! Possibly, the large meal thing? It's pressing on your diaphram when you overeat. Which, means you aren't able to take as deep of breaths as you normally would. No more large meals, small meals more times a day. WAtch the caffeine, choclate, and that sort of thing. Kinda try to bland your diet for a few days and then try introducing things back in one at a time, like a person with allergies does. You will find what "triggers" you and what doesn't. Good luck!

Re: How many people get heart related symptoms?

I get it exactly the same - it's like 24/7 something's wrong no matter how relaxed and happy I'm feeling at the time

It's always an 'easily-excitable' heart, for want of a better term, or chest/neck tightness (probably muscle tension from underlying stress but it never feels like it's really caused by anything I'm thinking or worrying about)

I just hope the docs are right and that it's all in our heads

Re: How many people get heart related symptoms?

Soodle, you have described me exactly. I also, don't feel anxious but after experiencing these symptoms, I become anxious. Who wouldn't? I feel like I am always going to have a heart attack.

However, these symptoms do not occur when I am doing something that I love. I just work through them and tell them to go away. I guess that our minds can help anxiety.
