Mucus in Lungs

I just got over a sinus infection which left me with a nasty cough. I've been taking Mucinex along with my antibiotic and my cough is productive now. But I've got SO much gunk in my lungs, I can hear it when I lay down at night. I don't feel bad, have fever, and the stuff I cough up is clear. So I'm sure I don't have an infection. Is there any herbal alternatives I can take to clear up all this mucus safely? I want to keep my cough productive because I know that's how my lungs detox after being sick.

I use a chinese herb by Plum Flower called "Clear mountain air"........supposedly one of the most popular in China.

Honestly, if you keep taking the mucinex it will help the mucus in your lungs. Drinking lots of water is vital to help thin it out, though I wouldn't drink distilled. Distilled water has no minerals and drinking too much can mess up your electrolyte balance. Plus you need a small amount of sodium or else the water will go right through you. Drinking hot beverages, like tea are also good, but watch the caffiene intake, as caffience causes you to expell water.

I always use white flower tree oil on my chest befor bed and drink some ginger and lemon tea it also helps for me any ways you can find the tree oil at a heath food store. hope this helps.
