Question Stretch mark and purple line question

I am finally starting to loose weight and have been noticing that my stretch marks are now ridges and kinda look funny. Also I notice more and more of these stupid icky purple veins and what looks like bruses on my legs. I had a few before but now I see more and more of them. Is this natural. I have only lost 12 lbs so far and have a long long long way to go. I just wanted to know first off of this is natural and second if there is anything that I can do about it.

Re: Stretch mark and purple line question

Great Job on the 12 lbs! That is quite an acheivement.

I don't know about the stretch marks but those purple veins sound like vericose veins. I have a couple on my legs. I'm told that it is from standing/sitting a lot and that the best way to help them is to exercise. So we'll see.
I'm not advocating this, however, there is a laser surgery available where you can get spider veins zapped away. I've never done it or know anyone who has so I don't know what it's all about but it's available. You may want to consult with you family physician regarding these changes in your body as they may indicate something more serious going on.

Re: Stretch mark and purple line question

Hi there,
I would have to agree with Kishat, it does sound as though it might be vericose veins. If you are concerned and want to know for sure than I would check with your doctor for confirmation and possible treatment ides. However I think if I were you I would wait for any type of treatment until I reached my ideal weight and see if that and excercising helps. Good luck and congratulations so far. Kristy.
