Post Hemorrhoids

Does anyone out there have remedies they'd recommend for relief of internal hemorrhoids? Within the last few months, I have expereinced some bleeding associated with this. I saw my doctor who did a rectal examine but found nothing out of the ordinary. He suggested more fiber in my diet and to drink more water. All in all, I've done a pretty good job with this and have tried to stay away from foods that are binding (like cheese). I went for almost three months without problems but they recently flared up again.

I really want to do everything to avoid surgery or anything like that. I've seen a number of natural remedies offered at various websites. Some are pills, some teas, others are topical ointments. So I've done some research but would love to hear what's worked for others.

Thanks
