Question Which foods will give me energy?

I had my daughter April 04. I gained 41 pounds during my pregnancy. I lost 28 right away (191) then I lost 12 pounds (179) on South Beach Diet, but I couldnt stick to it. Ive been on Weight Watchers, Slim Fast, South Beach, Ediets......Oh my goodness, you name it, I tried it. I have absolutly no motivation/energy during the day. I have a sedentary job (sit 7 hrs a day)

Are there foods/food groups that will provide me energy. My daughter is crawling & will soon be walking & I want to be able to keep up with her without feeling so run down!

I also NEED to start walking. Ive been talking about it for months now, but cant get motivated. I know this will help too.....

Thanks

Re: Which foods will give me energy?

dieting only works for so long. once your metabolism adjusts it takes a LONG time to lose a lot of weight. This is why you always hear people who JUST diet tend to lose 30 pounds over a year or something.

Exercise is everything. It boosts the metabolism, builds muscle, reshapes your body (as opposed to just making yoru body "smaller"), you lose primarily fat (as opposed to dieting where you lose fat and lean muscle), etc...

nothing complicated in all this. Start exercising and youll get the life you want. Don't and you won't.

=)

Re: Which foods will give me energy?

oops forgot to mention also, exercise will provide you with energy.

you don't really need "high energy" foods (not really sure what they would be. sugar ladden foods?)

what you need is to train your body to synthesize your calories in a "high energy" manner.

Exercise will give you all the energy you need to get through the day.
