Always hungry on Weight Watchers

I'm starting the Weight Watchers at work plan. I had been on it before but now more friends are on it so I feel like I have a support group at work, which is where I end up doing a lot of snacking.
One of my problems with WW was that I am always hungry. I am a carboholic and a chocoholic, so I really miss them. I understand on WW you can have those things but of course they are high in points so if I do eat them I find I don't have enough points to eat the rest of the day LOL! I have been told to drink more water, and I try that but it doesn't satisfy my hunger and I end up having headaches.
Any of you that have been on WW, and succeeded, can you offer some advice as to how I might be able to feel more full, and not so hungry all the time??
THanks
Carol

Re: Always hungry on Weight Watchers

I've found the only way to not be hungry is to stop eating those kinds of foods altogether. After a few days to a week or so, you'll stop having cravings for them. I LOVE pasta, and ate it all the time. But once I stopped eating it altogether (not just less often) I found I didn't want it anymore.

Don't give up. Check out the point system of weight watchers. You can keep your carbs; chocolate; any foods, and still lose weight. And you won't be hungry. Guaranteed.

Re: Always hungry on Weight Watchers

I can never do WW.I simply can't trust myself to make the correct choices. The only time I lost on WW was back when they had,I think it was called the choices plan and you had to have so many fibers, so many protein etc etc.All the choices on the plan were healthy foods.I have tried points but wow can you eat some kinda junk food---I'd buy a box of ww ice cream etc and use up my points on those kind of things and be forever hungry. I don't avocate real low carb either but I will tell you this when I eliminate carbs along with lowering calories I'm not hungry and that is half the battle.
I do have some friends that did WW and they lost alot but over a long period of time;2 lost 50lbs(took 1yr) and one lost 40(took her 2yrs)and another lost 30(Took her only 5mo).
I myself want somewhat quicker results,at least 2-3lbs per week it may never happen because I'm such a slow loser.I mean I'm on low carbs/low calories, use a food diary, exercise and am very strict with what I eat and also just started to take Meridian to help boost my metabolism.I'm just hoping for 1-2lb loss per week.
I think you can do good on WW,you need to make it the healthy diet it was devised to be, you just need to limit your bad carbs,so as to curb the hunger. That would be the battle for you to win.
When I think of all the diets I have been on it didn't matter if it was sensible or a crash diet the weight I lost always in the end when averaged out equated to 1-2lbs per wk. So good luck and get rid of some of those carbs

Re: Always hungry on Weight Watchers

If you eat foods high in fiber, it makes you feel full. If you eat an apple in the morning and drink a glass of ice cold water (COLD water poured in a glass FULL of ice) that does 2 wonderful things for you:
1.) The apple is high in fiber and will give you a full feeling early in the day. Apples are also a great snack to hold you over until the next meal
2.) The cold ice water is great because your body has to bring it down to body temperature in order to metabolize it, so you burn calories while doing so.

I am on WW and I have lost 17 lbs. in 5 weeks. I make sure that I use my daily points up and I rarely ever use the extra points they allow for cheating. I also swim 5 days a week, so maybe that is also contributing to the weight loss. I do know that just swimming alone wouldn't work for me, because without WW I'd be eating the same crap food I used to eat and my weight would just plateau...not go down.

I wish you all the luck with WW - it is hard at first, but like one of the pp's said, your body will get used to it. Another cool thing about WW is that salads are free (no meat or cheese because it costs points) and all you "pay" for with points is the dressing. I like Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinegarette (in the packets from McDonalds) because 2 tbsp. is only 1 pt, so for a mid-afternoon snack that will fill me up I have a free salad with a 1 pt. dressing.

Best of luck to you! Let me know if any of this works for you!
