Post recurrent small cell lung cancer with liver mets help!

Hi
My dad was diagnosed with limited small cell lung cancer (2 nodules in one lung and lymph glands) in sept 2000 he had VICE chemo and then radiotherapy he was in remission by feb 2001 he had PCI and was in remission until jan 2002. He has the 2 nodules come back in same one lung and 2 tumours in the liver. He started chemo etoposide and carboplatin had 1st round but we have been told his cancer is resistant to the drugs. Docs are hoping to get Topotecan his tumours have grown since jan bone scan and brain scan are negative( no cancer ). I feel concerned as the docs seem to be dragging their feet and time waits for no one. I wondered if anyone has any advice on alternative methods herbs etc , exp of topotecan dealing with liver mets or any advice in general would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Charley

I can understand your concern. My father also has lung cancer with liver mets. He is taking Topetecan now and will have a CT scan on Tuesday. He has been battling for almost a year. He is getting really tired. i hope things work out with you and your day.

I will keep you in my thoughts.

Hi Charley,

I have posted on the cancer board and the alternative treatments board.

My mother was very successful in treating her advanced, stage III inoperable nsclc with a product called Cantron. Other forms of the product are known as Entelev, Cancell and Protocel.

Please do some research and see what you think. There are also online support groups where you can find many testimonials for these products, and people who will speak to you personally by telephone.

Mom did have one round of chemo and radiation early on, but has been treating with Cantron since Thanksgiving, 2000. Her 3cm lung tumor has completely disappeared and yellowed lymph nodes are now clear.

I believe that to beat this disease, one must take a whole-person approach which includes changing diet (sometimes drastically), using appropriate supplements such as Cantron and others, positive mental imaging, and prayer and faith.

Good luck. I will keep you father in my prayers.
