No BCP? now what?

Ok long story here. I have been on every different type of BCP going I think, lol. Ortho Try-cyclin worked well for a long time, untill I had my Daughter. After that they started making me nausous. I was on Depo at one time, but it made me VERY deppressed, to the point where I didnt get out of bed for months. Now I'm on Alesse and they are making me so tired I can barley get my house work done. I think they are also starting to make me deppressed. I have no sex drive whatsoever. I am going to stick them out for another month at least just to be sure, but I know it's not going to get better I went to the Dr to ask about an IUD, but my Dr wasnt there as usuall, and the Dr I saw flat out told me no. That there is too many problems with them and that if I wanted to have children in the furture (which I do) then he wouldn't perscribe it. Well I left that appointment a little peeved.

I don't know whats left! I'm not a huge fan of barrier methods. My DD was concieved that way . I forgot my pill so we used a condom but it broke.

Does anyone have and experience with IUD's? Are they as bad as this Dr made them out to be? Soon I'm just going to stop all sexually intamicy with DH cuz I don't know what else to do!

I have heard good and bad about the IUD's....mostly bad though. If you do want to have more children..I wouldnt get one...just for the simple fact of all the problems it can cause you and you do not want to take the chance of never being able to get pregnant. I would try another pill...or just try to stick with the ones you have and maybe the side effects will go away.

I asked my doctor about IUD too...and he was not encouraging me to get one...he said it is not worth it...since there are so many other ways of birth control....he said women are having too much trouble with them now. Even though people who have one will swear by them and say they are much safer now than they used to be. It just doesnt sound like a good idea..."a foreign object inside of you"..............too much can go wrong.

Re: No BCP? now what?

I have tried 7 different types of pills so far, the Try-cyclin was the only one without MAJOR side effects, but now it makes me so nausous I can't sleep. I'm running out of idea's here, lol. I would just stop using BC all together, but I would like to finish Collage before we have another baby. Meaning I have 4 years to go....
