No Sub since Thurs PM..update

Well hello guys, like I mentioned in my post to electricguy last week, I was dropping the sub because I have simply had it with the F***ing pills. Now I was on the sub for 13 days before my decision to stop, I believe electric guy was on for only a week, so my withdrawal may be less severe, ...... Fri as previously stated a little nauseous and just generally lethargic, sleep was difficult but 4 bayer PM's helped ah sleep a wonderful escape. Saturday, whoa no energy at all, my son was moving out and I had to help him carry some heavy stuff, his mattress felt like a Buick! Luckily he hasn't acquired too many worldly possesions. After that I just basically sat and watched TV all day, I have this feeling like I just wittnessed a horible accident or something, its really weird, trying to sleep Saturday night it took about 3 hours to finally doze off, I kept jolting awake like someone stepped out in front of my car. Sunday more of same low energy, wife and I tried a walk on the beach, we usually go 2-3 miles, maybe we went about a half mile before I said lets just sit here for a while, which we did, back home more TV, early to bed..9:30 or so, sleep came aliitle easier.....Here I am monday morning , bright eyed and bushy tailed NOT lol, but I'm here and going through the motions, my employees think I'm getting over the flu.....I guess the main question is has any one else had this feeling of having seen or done something really horrible?I feel guilty whats up with that? and when will it pass?

almost4years

Thanks for the quick reply, yes my wife does know about the addiction, at first she flipped out, now she is very supportive, she really babied me over the weekend it was really nice. I hope your hubby can stay off the pills too. Its definitely worth it..if he is having a really hard time, maybe sub is the answer, it really works!

Good luck to you both

Does the sub effect your sex drive? I've been on methadone, and it just snuffed my sex drive altogether. I'm hoping that a switch to suboxone on March 9 will help me start to get the little guy woke up a bit you know?

Re: No Sub since Thurs PM..update

Hi, just checking in. When I went for a checkup with a new doc, he looked at my vitals and immediately put me on a low dose of sub (4mg per day). My bp was 170/110 pulse 100plus. After 10 plus days "clean" I was still in w/d. My new doc wants to taper the sub over 3 months. I have to say, when taking even the lowest dose of sub, I have never felt better. Its like the ultimate antidepressant. at least for now. I have been researching long term use of sub, but of course agree that taking nothing is the best course. Unfortunately, I have come to realize there was a deep down root cause for me taking so much hydro (depression) and after trying the normal regimant of anti depressants with no luck, I was on my own to self prescribe the opiate. I have appointments with 2 more docs for independent advice on what to do from here. Regarding the sub cutoff, the tiredness really did start to improve after 10 days little by little, I think I had a post where I was thinking the time frame for recover was equal to the time frame of using.
good lucki!
