Post unknown disease

Has anyone heard of a disease that has these symptoms: fevers, fatigue, anemia, enlarged lymph nodes. Has been going on for 7 mo's and bone marrow shows no iron in marrow and the pathologist was sure was cancer because the way the cells looked, but when stained no cancer cells present. Has anyone experienced this and later developed a lymphoma or leukemia. Please help.

My mom has had these same symptoms for a year now, all except the swollen nodes. The doctors believe that lymphoma will show itself. The wait must be maddening for you and your family. Has lupus been ruled out? How about malaria? Was there a bone marrow aspiration and biopsy? If so, it is possible that there are lymphoma cells there, but that they are "patchy" and not widely dispersed. In that case, it is possible that the needle just MISSED them. Also, a good question to ask is: was the section from the needle biopsy a FROZEN section, which can be done quickly, or a PERMANENT section, which takes overnite and is more reliable. You can always have them repeat the needle biopsy. Has there been a full body CT scan, full body MRI, PET scan? Were the gram negative tests done? What is the hematocrit, what is the SED rate? What about immunoglobulin?
Give me some more info if you can, because I have been researching this stuff for several months.

Thumbs up

4 years ago I had a swollen node in my neck and entreme fatigue also. The node was removed and sent to a pathologist.
I was diagnosed with Hodgkin´s disease and had Chemo and radio therapy. Last week I had another node removed from my groin and diagnosed with just an Hyperplasia (nothing bad) but I was really scared.
Face the facts and have a biopsy done.

Good luck.

Red face

If you still need help on this question I would have the same tests repeated somewere else as they could be doing something wrong.
Errors are common place in the health business!!
If your doctor looked at your cells and said he was sure they were cancerous, he is either a bloody fool or someone has mixed up the sampels or something.Get the tests repeated somewere else.

Roger,

I too have found a swollen node in my groin area. I wanted to ask you what if felt like.

Was yours swollen? And then did it go down later? Mine actually feels like cartilage. I plan on going to the Doctor to get it checked out next week.
