Post Lymphoma symptoms

I was tested by needle biopsy for lymphoma over 2 years ago for lymph nodes that were swollen in my groin area. The doctor said that it was fatty deposits.

The lymph node is still swollen and now I have shortness of breath and swelling in the upper right side of my back. Is it possible that they biopsied the wrong area and could my other symptoms be related to lymphoma?

Groin lymph nodes are notorious for getting swollen from various cause occurring in the groin. If you had lymphoma it would be elsewhere. Also, in lymphoma you don't just get one swollen node, they are multiple.

You may have a hernia with irritation and a non-spefic lymphadenitis of the groin node.

And.....no charge....(joking)

sunny, doc is telling you the real deal, the groin is full of trash, bad spot for lymphoma biopsy. Get a new dr and find out or try to find out your dx. I am pattient at ***CC Hou,Tx and before I got there I was put through a nightmare. Mine is a difficult case and primary site still unconfirmed but I am in the best place for help. If you have lymphoma it can be anywhere, not just lymph system. My biopsy of lymph node from neck, chest and the thymus gland were dx with severe hyperplasia. I am in a lot of bone pain and also pain in my spine is real bad and onc feels my lymphoma is organ related some where!

Sunny9211, get rechecked ASAP! I had a brother who died from lymphoma at age 46. His first biopsy was for a swollen lymphnode in the groin area which was negative. About 6 months later, he had swollen nodes in the back of his shoulder. Biopsys were taken of several lymphnodes under his arm area and these came back negative also. Another 6 months passed and he suddenly got a very severe headache. The doctors then found he had cancer and it had spread to his brain. The cancer was spread to where there was nothing that could be done for him and he passed away 6 weeks later.
I do not wish to scare you, but do want you to be persistent in getting checked out. You may or may not have a serious problem. The earlier any cancer is found is the better your chances for survival.

Good Luck!!
