dry eyes? or something else? This screws up my days!

Ok, im allergic to some things if this matters... but okay, almost all the time, my eyes feel dry and whenever im in big open spaces like school, gymnasiums or just outside, when I look at the distance or anything just a bit far my eyes feel really... dunno how to say it.. dry? embarrassing feeling? It feels as if someone was blowing air in my eyes slowly... so I need to permanently frown/force my eyes ( Like closing them half-way ) or I can start to "cry" and it really feels uncomfortable... What is this? It doesnt happen when I'm at home or other people's home, just at school, gymnasiums or other big spaces ( can it have something to do with air conditioning? or allergies? ) Help please! I feel I can't function normally with that feeling =( It could even start to screw my social..

Re: dry eyes? or something else? This screws up my days!

Hi there, have you used eye drops to help your dry eyes? Do use them if you haven't and if the symptoms persist, do go and consult a doctor. It might be that you don't blink enough and therefore your eye doesn't get moist enough. I know it sounds stupid but some people don't blink their eyes enough and it gets dry easily.

However, sometimes dry eyes can be caused by autoimmune problems like Sjgorens or perhaps just a blocked tear duct.

If it's allergies, usually the eyes will water instead of drying up but I can't confirm on that point here. Air-conditioning and the environment does affect on the amount of moisture your eyes have and needs. Especially in air-con places, your eyes tend to dry faster. If your area is less humid and the air is dryer, your eyes could suffer too. I hope this helps and good luck to you!!!

Remember the eye drops.

Wait, can I use ANY eye drop? By any of them, I mean like surely somewhere in my house there are some eyedrops for "general and common" stuff... y'know?
Just wanna know if there are a special sort of eye drops... Also, I've heard dry eyes can be caused by some Lubus or Lopus thing... I would like more info about the causes, because I hope I don't have any major sickness... I feel healthy.

Don't use just any eye drop. Do not use regular visine that takes the red out. That can cause more problems if used for too long. Find an eye drop that is made for sensitive eyes and is just for moisturizing not whitening. I believe visine has one designed just for dry eyes. I wear contact lenses so I cannot use the visine products. I can only use eye drops designed for people who wear contact lenses.
