I participate in a violent sport, and I know someone will eventually get knocked out (blows to the head). I'm thinking I should just check to make sure he's breathing, and if not check for any obstructions. Then should I bring him to my car and bring to hospital? or should I just call them and have an ambulence come?
What else should I do if this happens to someone? Ice? Keep him on his back with head lifted slightly? any advice will help.
Making sure he's breathing and checking for obstructions, then calling an ambulance sounds right. It's safer to not move a person who's received a blow to the head because their back might be injured, and moving someone with an injured back can worsen the injury. Otherwise, there isn't much you can do for a concussion.
Oh, and make sure the person is kept warm. Try putting a blanket or a coat on them.
Yep Arr is right. DO NOT move the person. But make sure that the person is breathing. Also you should stabilize the neck area until the ambulance gets there. This is called the C-spine. Look it up because it's too hard to explain it on here.
