doctor?

i have posted here with the same problem before. when i posted i had two bruises now i have 4. my parents tell me that i probably just bumped into something but i refuse to believe that i bumped into something 4 times in the same week and got a bruise on my arm, thigh, and two on my leg. the bruises are going away slowly and arent as bad as before but i am worried about it to an extent. i do want to see a doctor about it but i dont know if its worth it. they may look at it and say the same things as my parents and tell me that they are going away so its fine. what should i do? please respond soon because tomorrow is pretty much the only day coming up that i have a chance to see the doctor!

Re: doctor?

There could be lots of causes of bruising. Most of them are nothing to worry about, but sometimes bruising can be a sign of a serious illness. Go to the doctor, and if the doc thinks something is up they can draw some blood and do some simple tests. Good luck.

Re: doctor?

My son has someting called von willebrands disease, it is a blood disorder.
Apparently it is quite common and doesn't usually cause any problems.
We only discovered it because he started to bruise very easily and had nose bleeds.
It is like a very mild form of haemophillia, you bruise easily and in females it causes extremly heavy periods.
It often goes undiscovered and is believed to be a common cause for hysterectomies being carried out needlessly, or so my sons blood specialist tells me.

It may be worth reading up about, theres loads of info on the net about it.

Good luck

Re: doctor?

You mean this is just in one WEEK? I don't think that warrants running to a doctor! I could see if it's an ongoing problem, but you didn't say it is.
