leg cramps

I am wondering if anyone can tell me if eating excessive amount of sweets (candy) can cause night-time leg cramps.

Re: leg cramps

Night leg cramps are usually caused by stress or by a lack of certain minerals. I don't think your sugar dose has anything to do with it.

Re: leg cramps

Cramps are generally a cause of a lack of potassium- eat a banana, see if it helps, if not, try taking a daily multi-vitamin

Re: leg cramps

I've also been told that leg cramps are caused by a potassium deficiency. Try what Maak823 suggested..eat some bananas and take a multi-vitamin. If the cramps don't stop or get worse you could see your doctor who might run some blood work.
