for the over a month now i have been experiencing localized pain/spasms in the left/center of my throat just below my adam's apple. it literally appeared out of nowhere while sitting at the computer and hasn't completely gone away since (some days it's less noticable than others). the best way to describe it is that it feels like a combination of something stuck in my throat (like a pill) with the sensation of my throat collapsing/closing up. it's very uncomfortable...
i have seen several doctors (incl. one ENT). none seem too concerned, but i'm not too convinced of their "diagnosis" since they suspect "allergies"...i'm not allergic to anything...and i've never heard of allergies behaving like this. i have an esophagram scheduled in a couple of days.
some things that preceeded this that i can possibly connect to it are...i am learning to sing and often improperly sing from my throat instead of my diaphragm...my throat gets tired quickly. also, i've been under a lot of stress lately and there were moments when i held back tears and the tension was all in this area of my throat. i just hope i haven't done permanent damage to my throat because of it...
the reason i posted in this section is because i've also had what seems to be acid reflux on occasion...when drinking things like carbonated sodas, i get an immediate hiccup while swallowing.
if anyone can shed some light on the possibilities of what i'm dealing with, i'd appreciate it...
thanks...
