Various symptoms, are they all related?
Hello, everyone! I am new to this board. I have a few health concerns, maybe someone can give me some advice?
I am 29 years old, and the last couple of months I have been having a few symptoms that could or could not be related, I don't know. I have been experiencing fatigue, more weakness than usual in my arms, visual disturbances in my right eye (it is worse at times more than others, I wear glasses), my heart when I am sitting down a lot of times does this flip flop thing in my chest, and most recently I feel like I have water in both my ears, all the time. My husband thinks I am a hypochondriac, and I probably am, a little, but I swear I am not imagining all this. I feel like I'm falling apart! Can someone help me out? It would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Various symptoms, are they all related?
HI Discoqueen
Welcome to the boards!
Sorry but I don't have a clue about your symptoms. have you been to the dr and what does he/she say? Have you had any heart tests? have you started taking any medication before all this came on? I would suggest going to the drs.
Sorry i can't be more help, and I suspect you haven't had responses because noone else knows either.
Best wishes
Tesss

Re: Various symptoms, are they all related?
Thanks for replying! No, I haven't been to the doctor yet, I just got a new job and am waiting for my insurance to kick in. I just didn't know if they were serious enough symptoms that I should see a doctor now, or if it can wait. I usually focus on my kids' health problems, not my own, but some of these are starting to worry me. My husband keeps telling me I am worrying too much over nothing.
Oh, I almost forgot. I went to the er a while ago for something else (about a year and a half ago??) and they did an ecg, (ekg, ecg , I am not sure which one) and they said it was fine. I am not sure then why I am having this weird feeling. My mom says she gets palpitations all the time, which is what I am guessing these are, but that can't be normal, can it? And I'm only 29, after all.
Well, thanks for hearing me out.

Re: Various symptoms, are they all related?
Hey Discoqueen - Welcome! Ok, let's start with a few basic questions: the visual disturbances? Are they accompanied by headaches? Are you taking anything for the headaches? What medications are you on - both prescribed and over the counter. ANy allergies? The weakness in your arms? Both arms or more one side than the other? Is there any tingling and how far down? How often are you having these symptoms? Once a day? Twice a week? More or less often? Any relation to your periods? The EKG that was done in the ER measured the electrical impulses to your heart and that time and should not be used a tool to diagnose your issues now? They may or may not be related. Yes, someone can have a normal EKG and still go out in the parking lot afterward and have a massive heart attack? Age doesn't matter - there are high school kids who keel over on the basketball court from heart problems. Should you see a doctor? Probably.
Any chance that this is anxiety? New job? Kids OK? Spouse OK? Finances in order? LEt me know - chris

Re: Various symptoms, are they all related?
I notice it only in my right eye, but it is starting to affect everything I do. I tried contacts in October and they didn't work for me, and ever since then my eyesight in that eye has been getting progressively worse. It almost feels as if there is a film over my eye or like it is starting to cross, but it doesn't seem to be crossing. I've also noticed, when driving, that it seems like I have hardly any peripheral vision in that eye. A little scary! It gets worse when I do stuff like drive for long periods of time, and on the computer for a while, reading, stuff like that. I do get headaches, but I have gotten migraines since I was 6 years old, there is no change there. All I take for them is excedrin, and I am not currently on any prescriptions. I didn't recently go off any, either. No allergies that I know of...except to penicillin and a little to cats (itchy nose and eyes, watery eyes, sneezing, pretty mild though). The arms I just have noticed when I try to lift, or do something that requires having my arms in the air for even a little bit, like doing my hair or hanging up a picture. I keep feeling like I need to rest my arms. Now that could be due to the fact that I don't exercise. :0) I have it in both arms, but as I am right handed, I notice it more with my right arm. I haven't noticed any tingling. All this stuff is on and off all the time though, not any particular time of day or month. All the symptoms that I described happen at least once a day, usually more. You're probably right about some being stress related, I am under a lot of pressure right now. I don't know, I haven't felt really good in months. I'm tired of not feeling bad or good, just "blah". Kinda feel old before my time, ya know? I am going to get checked out by a doctor as soon as my insurance kicks in. Thank you so much for your advice in the meantime.
