Post cts and ulnar nerve decompression

4 days ago I had cts and nerve decompression at the wrist and I still am having agreat deal of pain just moving my fingers and swelling. My Dr said he spent the first 2 hrs just removing scar tissue cell by cell and the next 2 hrs repairing nerve damage that went on too long, he also said he nicked the nerve that runs to my pinky and part of the ring finger. I was afraid to ask him what problems could result from that, does anyone here know? One thing is that I have no sensation in half my ring finger and the other middle finger is still numb. I'm worried that I could end up with rsd is this possible? My cts on the other hand in 2001 went great even tho I do have neuropathy. He is starting me on hand therapy and massage later next week. Do any of you know some outcomes stemming from delayed surgeries (3 yrs wait) such as this, and nicked nerves during the surgery?

Success depends on how long a person has had CTS, how bad it is, age, general health.

I asked my surgeon what would happen if he nicked a nerve and he said "nerves do not forgive".

Unfortunately I'm 55, have bone and nerve disease just to start. My other cts in 2001 went very well inrecovery but this was more extensive. Today I could move my fingers more freely but I do have nasty clump of nerves sitting in that wrist, certainly hope it gets less sensitive as it can't even be touched without it sending a shocking zing throught my fingers.
