Smile HELP! any advise will be well taken.

I have been reading a few postings re:CTS. I can honestly admit to having the same symptoms as many of you.

I went to the doctor today and was advised to have an MRI done. Can anyone explain what they (docotors) will find? I already had an EMG done which came out negeative but the doctor who administered the EMG testing told me she has had several patients who have CTS and the test keeps coming out negetive. She, her self does belive I do have CT. However, they (doctors,W/C)will believe the machine before they will belive her (Machine over Human).
I have been out of wrk for the past few weeks but I am returning this Monday. Since, I haven't been doing my daily duties at work but have been doing daily house duties. I have experinced swelling in my right hand for the first time and now I have pain from my elbow going to my wrist and the top of my right hand for the first time. Because of this the doctor is ruling out CTS, Tendenitis, over use as well as others. Is this right? He said the way I am describing the pain doesn't make sense. The pain I feel comes from my elbow through the right side of my right hand and it also effects the top of my right hand. Does this sound right to anyone? I also have pain just above the wrist as well as in my wrist.

Can anyone please advise me on this? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

P.S If some of my spelling is off or I don't make sense in some of my words please forgive me. I am getting sleepy. :~)

Hi Silycat,

I just replyed to your post on mine. I understand what your going through. But I have no advice. I am trying to figure this all out myself. I feel like the doctor sometimes thinks I am making this up, But I am not. I get a pretty good size lump on my arm when the pain is at the highest point. (can't make that up)

I have done all that the doctor wanted me to do for the last month and I have had no improvement.

I have to wear braces at bed and wear them during the day.

Well I hope that you get some answers. I will be reading your post to see if it might help me out to :-)

Take care, Bye Chele'

Cool

Can I ask what kind of DR you are seeing???
An MRI Your kidding right. You need to see an orthopedic Dr he should take a X-ray ***** should come back normal and then do a few simple test, and if he thinks it's CTS he will send you for a nearve test. I think that may be what you had done I cant remember what they called mine. I didnt claim workers comp. Mine was a little of everything, thyroid disease, computer, and my job. I didnt want the head aches with worker comp. I had my surgery 3 days ago, it went great. But cant return to work till June 3. Don't even know if I can for sure yet, But I have sick time so that works out great. Please find your self another Dr. and best of luck to you

Hi S
I thought I would check in with you and see how your doing? Have you gone for your mri yet. I go in the morning. I dont know what they are going to find, all I know is I am sick of the pain and I hope they find out why it is happening.

As for my doctor (quack) I was very upset with my last appt. that I told my dh that he needs to go with me this time. She said in a joking way (I did not like it) that I was faking it, HOW in the world do you fake pain with Swelling, and a mass under the skin of your arm. Boy she has some nerve. But I told dh that I want him to go with me and he is going. I wish I could find another doctor but it is not that easy when your in the military and you have to go to the doctors they tell you to go to. (I am not seeing military ones this time) (I wish I was) But anyway, I hope you doing good, keep me up to date on what is going on.

Take care bye Chele
