Post could this be carpal's tunnel?

Friday,Saturday and Sunday I couldn't pick anything up. I had terrible pain in my wrist but also my whole arm- from my shoulder on down to my hand. It also felt numb. I could just have my arm laying there and it was still in pain. I couldn't even move my fingers and tighten up my hand,or move my wrist up or down. I went to doctor, they took an x-ray and I go back in morning. I know it's going to cost an arm and leg and I probably still won't know anything.Ha.Do you think this is carpal's tunnel?

Did you have any previous pain or tingling before this? Seems like it came on so suddenly are you sure you didn't sprain your wrist or pull a ligament or tendon, maybe fractured a wrist bone? CT usually progresses at a much slower rate, at least for me it was over years on both hands. Not saying that it couldn't be ct but for me and others I've known who had it, years of involvement before it got remotely severe. The xray can look for fractures but won't be able to pick up ct possibilities.

I did have pain off and on for the last several months but It was when I tried to pick up a pot of something with that hand, I just used both hands instead but this time was different. This time the above post happened. They wanted to take an x-ray because I told them a box did fall on my wrist several months back. Their is a little bump that you can feel on my wrist and it does hurt when you press it. I told the doctor about it but he didn't say anything about it. I don't know anything about this. I only wondering since several people said maybe you have carpal's tunnel. So the x-rays will only tell if I have a broken or fractured bone?
Thanks for your reply. I'm kind of worried about what might be wrong.

I don't have carpal tunnel, just checking the list for a friend I thought might be here, but want you to know if you've pulled a muscle or something there's prescriptions for it, muscle-relaxant.

Guess you've tried moist heat and aspirin and resting it. But it just won't relax? Yours sounds like an emergency.

Xrays only show bone that is why emgs and ncv tests are done to see how the nerve impulses respond. You could have shifted the carpal bone in the accident and that in turn would press on the median nerve. Ask for tests like emg. From what you said about lifting a pan of water with both instead of the one hand, I can relate to that, I would get some more tests done, I waited too long and now the surgery hasn't done a thing for me.
