Hi Shelby,
Sorry I have not wrote back,Been kinda depressed. The doctor put me back in the cast for another 2 weeks. Then I start therepy. I still have some pain. I seen the cut she made and took a picture of it. It is accross my elbow and is about 4 in. yucky.
Plus I am worried about my son who left for army basic training (he is 17)
oh well enough about me, How are you doing? Do you have much pain still? Are you in a cast? Have you seen the sight yet?
Well I will try and write more later. Take care.
Hope your doing well

Hey there,
I have a 3.5" incision across the right elbow and a 1" incision in the palm of my right hand. Both sites get very stiff and painful at times but soaking in a warm tub helps. The stitches came out on day 10 and that day was really rough! The surgeon gave me exercises to do and I find them easier to do in a tub of warm water! The incisions look good; I actually snuck a peek and took pictures on day 4...Talk about some swelling and bruising. Yikes! The cast deal stinks but at least your kids can see that you are still not feeling well....My kiddos are waking me every morning to fix breakfast ~ "mommy is better!" I'm not sleeping very well; how about you? The incision site on my elbow is still very tender and the Dr. said it could last up to 6 months By the way...a 17yr old and a 17 month old? How is she?
Take Care!

hey
Sorry to hear that your having problems, I think that will last a little while with the pain, and all that, but I dont know for sure. I know my doc dont want me to move my arm for another 2 weeks. I just want to take the cast off. But I know I cant
I hope and pray you start to feel better soon. And let your children know that Mommy still is not better yet.
How old are they again?
Well my 17 month old is doing well, she will be 18 months on july 11. Growing fast. She has to wear a eye patch for 3 hours a day. I hope it works, My son, well I hope he is doing well. It was a shock for him at basic, but he should have known what it would be like, my hubby is Army, so he knows all about the military. I think he is home sick. But I hope and pray that he will be okay.I am sure he will.
Are you getting any feelings back in your hand and fingers? Once in a while I get a weird shock in my pinky.
What exer are they having you do? Well keep me informed on how your doing, and I will try to keep you informed better on this side
e-mail me if you would like.
take care, and rest that arm
hugs Chele

Hey there,
I have full sensation in my hand and the shocking pains you are referring to. My elbow is numb...interesting feeling. haha. No, I'm now cured and open game for my kids (9yr & 7yr). http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif I feel so bad for you. It must be hard to get around without help! I know sleeping must be hard for you too. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/yawn.gif It will get better. Took all the sterile strips off today, they were driving me crazy, I think it will make it easier to sleep that way. I was taking Neurontin before my surgery and stopped after...I tried it today and it did seem to help a little. That may be a temporary option for you; it would help that stabbing throb (nerves waking up).
God Bless...prayers for you and your family
Hugs,
ShelbyS
