Question cp and pnemonia

My son has severe cp and is in the hospital with pnemonia. I've heard this is really serious and could cause death. He is 3yrs old and has a feeding tube and vomits regularly. I'm very scared but want to know what I can. If anyone has information about this please respond.

Ask your doctor about getting a J-tube put in. This tube is inserted into the intestines and therefor food is not in the stomach causing vomiting, resulting in asperation. This has worked for the man I take care of. He is 68 and has had a G-tube put in over a year ago. He has been in the hospitol for the exact same reasons you described untill he had a JEJUNEL TUBE put in and now all is going well. No more vomiting which means he is not asperating his formula now.

Hi,

I'm 46, and have spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. I used to get frequent bouts of pneumonia until I stepped up my Vit C intake. I also take an herbal preparation to improve lung function. Most of us with cp tend to have immature lungs and are prone to getting infections/colds easily. Protecting ourselves by improved nutritiona and perhaps supplementing with vitamins may help. Consult with your physician before introducing anything new into your child's daily regimen.

Kind regards,
