Question botox

Why do they keep trying to get me to inject my son with botox? Has anyone had good luck with it, most I have read leads me to believe it is a painfull process
that provides only short term effects that end in surgery anyway. If anyone has pros or cons please help
a dad who is lost! My son is 7 years old.

Dear lost dad, I certainly know how you feel! My twins have had the Botox injections four times so far. Although it seems to be helpful, the pro and cons are on a perpetual, invisable scale in my heart and mind. The procedure does seem to involve some pain or atleast discomfort but it is very short lived and if your child reacts in a positive manner with good results, the second trip will be easier to bear. Ask your doctor to put you in touch with someone who has a child the same age and have them give you a testamonial. There are also more and more physician that agree to give a mild sedeative( there is a great class of safe drugs available that wear off quickly with no side affect) Ask for all the info available.
As yet I have been unable to find a pharmcology reference to find out the newest reported side affects. It's my opion that the surgery will be a last resort. Best of all wishes and Prayers to you and yours
