Question baclofen pump

hi,

i'm having to consider this surgery for my 7yr old daughter. She already passed the test injection. does anyone have any thing to calm our fears over this large surgery?? We have heard from all therapists that they notice no change, however the parents state that its easier to dress their child. I need more incentive than that to put her through this big surgery.

Hello there...Im not exactly sure what type of surgery your daughter is getting....i wish i could help you out...can you write back to me and explain what the surgery is supposed to do for her...whats wrong with the way she is now?

My 4 yr old daughter who has CP had surgery about 2 yrs ago...her left hip was 90% out of the socket...let me tell you...that helped her alot!! If she hadnt had the surgery...there would most likely be NO chance at all on her walking in the future....shes still not walking yet...but shes only 4....It deffanitly did loosen her up a little...

hope to hear from you soon..

Hi. I am new to the site, first post. My soon to be step-son (Getting married June 1) is 9 years old and has CP - spastic quadraplegia. He just underwent hip surgery the end of Febrary as well. Came out of his body cast a week ago. How long ago was your daughters surgery? He seems to be in alot of pain (I realize its only been a week out of the cast!!) but we are concerned about what to expect as far as his recovery. Was it long before your daughter was feeling better after her surgery? He has never walked and only has a few words, has g-tube for feeding and diapers, wheelchair etc. He army-crawled pre-surgery, but is not even interested in trying that right now. Any input from anyone would be appreciated!!!

Question

I am 22 with Spastic Quad CP and currently looking to have the baclofen pump surgery if the trial doses are successful. Anyone who currently has the pump, can you give me your experiences - good or bad?

Thanks,
Lisa
