My ACEI history is only with enalapril (Vasoted) when it forst came out. The cough was unbearable and I waited a good long time before tossing the drug.
I never tried another.
My question is, has ANYONE tried one of the ACEI's and coughed, and then replaced it with another and STOPPED coughing (and still got good BP control

?) If so, I would be willing to try it because I think the ARB's are too weak and too expensive (I take Cozaar) and I think the mechanics of blocking the MAKING of angiotensin-2 is more cardio-healthy than the mere blocking of it's attatchment, which allows the angiotensin-2 to still circulate and do some dirty work (in probably far greater amounts than normal if my sense of "feedback" mechanisms is on target.)
Is there such a WONDER ACE Inhibitor that doesn't cause cough after another one did? Or am I asking for the MOON? <Paul Henreid, lighting two cigarettes, one for BETTE!>
