Re: Kalie where are you

Hi there suggi,

Thanks for checking up on me. Yeah, I've been in kind of an "I don't want to talk about it" mood for a little while. Just part of the ups and downs I suppose. Physically, things are actually looking up. Abraxane (possibly a combination of Abraxane and the Macrobiotic diet) have stabilized my mets which is the best news I've had in a long time.

I'm about to take a short break from chemo to have the mets in my back radiated as well as my ovaries. I'm having the ovarian oblation to kill them and prevent the manufacture of estrogen and progesterone since my tumors are e/p+. After that, I'll be back on the chemo and this time with a port b/c my veins are officially shot.

Mentally, I'm tired. I'm in my 11th month of treatment with no end in sight, so it's kind of tough to keep my energy level up some days. That, and I'm sick of being bald!

How are you doing?

Kalie

Soooooo glad to hear from you. Sorry about the hard time you are having. Glad that drug seems to be working for you. I think of you every day. Mine was estrogen/progesterine related also so maybe that therapy will make a big difference for you also. Sorry about your veins. I know you can't use the arm with the mastectomy for any blood taking, IV, blood pressure, etc. so that leaves us with only the one arm. They probably were using your neck or legs also. Oh, you poor little girl!!!!!!!!! Please get better.

Me? I just keep getting new things in addition to the old and because of all my drug/test related allergies, etc. they consider me "difficult" and don't really seem to want to take care of me at this point......even the dentist. Am trying to ignore everything now even though I know that is bad. Now I have a painful sore swollen area in the back/side of my mouth/throat (cheek side) and I don't even care anymore.

Please keep posting when you are up to it as I worry about you.

Re: Kalie where are you

Hi,
I was wondering if either one of you had taken the drug faslodex? My Mom is currently on that after several others have failed. Her cancer markers are up and the cancer is worsening according to her Oncologist. He said he hopes this can slow it some. She has been in increasing pain, and very tired and weak. Just curious if you had taken it and what kind of results you had.
Thanks...
Kristen

Re: Kalie where are you

Hey Kalie: I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you. I found these boards after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year. You have been everyone's cheerleader and have been so supportive to those searching for answers. You are an angel amoung us and I just wanted to let you know I am praying for you everyday. I can't imagine what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you! Take care and God Bless You! I wish I could make you feel better or have something to say that would help you. I just felt compelled to write to you and let you know that I care about you. I am so sorry for this journey you are on. I pray to God that you recieve your miracle!
