Post Chemical peel backfire

On October 6th I had a moderate chemical peel from a plastic surgeon in Newport Beach, CA. I'm 41 and was told it would take a few years off my face get rid of blemishes and have an overall smoother complexion with a lot less sun damage. It's two months later and I am still having horrible acne because of this peel. Before the peel I had mild hormonal acne. Now my face is red and blotchy with zits all over it. The dr. says it's still healing and for me to be patient.
I think he doesn't want to admit this was a bad reaction to the peel. I need a refund so I can go see a really good dermatologist . I used to feel pretty, now I feel ugly. Do you think I have any recourse? Has anyone ever had an experience like this? Please I need some advice.
Thank you,

Olivia
