40 days today

Well it's been 40 days since I last took any kind of meds, it wasn't easy but it was worth every craving that I had.
For those of you who just started your quit I want to let you know that it is very possible to get off of your choice med, I took Lortab 10.500 for 12 years.
I really feel good about my choice

Re: 40 days today

Thank you so much for your post, you are an insperation to those of us who only have a couple of weeks.

while the physical symptoms seem to have eased off a LOT, can you offer any advice, at what point, do you begin to feel somewhat normal? that you don't need to pop just one more, to get that "rush" of energy, to tackle everyday life?
THAT is what I am missing most.

CONGRATS on your 40 days....I wish you 40 more years of happiness!!!

Re: 40 days today

After two weeks I didn't have anymore wd's at all, I do however from time to time think of the blue pill, (Lortab) in fact I did think of it today but it was very short lived.
The best advise I can give you is to take in only one day at a time, it's much easier that way, after each passing day tell yourself that you are winning the fight and that you can see goodthings to come.
It can be done, after 40 days I can tell you that I really am done with drugs, set your mind that you will not lose the fight and you will recover 100%.
At times I look back to day one on my quit and think at how hard is was for me thinking that this there is noway I could win, but after day one I never looked back
