Prescrip med intolerence

I have taken Protomix, Prevacid, Aciphex, Nexium and Prilosec and all cause me great discomfort. I feel as if a cold piece of steel is stabbing me in the bottom of my heart. Anyone else experience this? If so, is there a way around it? The heartburn/gerd does not cause as much discomfort as the medicine.....
Thanks!

Re: Prescrip med intolerence

Well I can say that when I was given my meds my discomfort got worse but I stuck with it so I could get better. I was also given and antispasmatic to calm my digestive tract. Its was Hysocomine, levbid, donnatal or Bentyl. Those work well for that until your stomach can heal enough.
Have you always stayed on the meds long enough to let them work? Mine took 3 weeks to work. Some side affects go away too. Just need towork through them
Talk to your doctor about the antispasmatics along with a ppi so you can get bettter.
Possibly there is a gallblader issue had any other tests for your pain? Did your GI scope you?
good luck

Re: Prescrip med intolerence

I had endocscopy, sigmoidoscopy, small intestine and gall bladder check.
The doctor is the one who told me I couldn't tolerate the meds. I try now to get by on 4 10mg pepcid a day with pepto and tums on as needed basis.
Most days are OK but some I can't sleep because of gerd.
Thanks for answering!
