Just a guess here, but most sutures are removed within 7-10 days, so at most I would think you'd have to keep it clean and bandaged for no more than a week to ten days. Hope others can help you more specifically, since I'm not positive, but the 7-10 days has been my experience. Good luck.

Re: Questions About Scar Revision

i can answer this:0)

i was in an auto accident 30 years ago in which my head hit the windshield. i have a smile shaped scar that practically runs from temple to temple. it looked red and terrible at first but i had a scar revision about 9 months later from a highly recommended plastic surgeon. he did a z-plasty and i was supposed to have dermabrasion after that. in fact, i never went back after the z-plasty, i was so terrified from the first procedure.

the worst part is when they put the needles in to numb you up, and let me tell you, it hurts like a mf!!!!! i vowed not to complete the process, but often wonder what my scar would look like if i had. i wore bangs for 30 years, but at 48, have decided to say the hell with it and don't anymore. the scar has faded considerably, and only gets red when i get some sun. my friends don't notice it anymore and hardly any ever mentions it. i'm lucky to have the type of skin that doesn't scar too badly, no keloids.

i guess there are worse things that can happen (putting it all in perspective).

good luck!
