Buspar and Xanax....

Hello,

I have been taking xanax .5 mg for about a week or two now (not every day though) for my severe anxiety issues..my doctor recently put me on buspar to be taken as well as my Zoloft 50 mg. What my question is, is it still okay to take the xanax for breakthrough anxiety/panic attacks while on Buspar daliy? It says the buspar must be taken dailey and may take up to 6 weeks to become effective.

If anyone knows of any problems mixing these medications please let me know....any advice would help me out!

There is no interaction with the BuSpar and Xanax, however you really should consult your doctor about using the Xanax as needed. S/he may not want to you continue use of the Xanax.
