Thumbs up

Hi,
I have had silicone injections in my lips. I have very tiny amounts put in a month apart. I did this for about 4 months. I am very happy with the results and have not had any reactions to it. Were they large amounts of silicone being injected? My PS said that it has to be very very small amounts put in.

I believe the woman who died didn't have them done by a doctor, but at a "silicone party". Something called a silicone embolism or something.

The FDA frowns on the use of silicone in the lips, but there's a loophole in the law allowing it to be done. However, there are currently some clinical trials.

Silicone in the lips looks fantastic for about 10 years then it tends to move around.

DO NOT allow ANYONE to inject silicone into you! I was given injections for acne scars and some sunken areas of my checks. I know have overcorrected cheeks (I look like my face is swollen), no definition whatsoever in my cheekbone area, exploded and enlarged scars (pores look like pockmarks now!) and a granuloma (large, red cyst-like bump) where an injection site never reduced. Now. Just imagine that these mistakes/problems WILL NEVER EVER GO AWAY!!! I have seen about 10 plastic surgeons and they will not touch the problems. Cortisone injections could shrink the surrounding skin unnecessarily, liposculpture will make my skin uneven, creating a butn scar look, and implants are too risky given my face. Now. I ask you. Do you think these docs/people who inject you will tell you this? NO WAY!! Stick with collagen or any biodegradable substance. Spend the money to have it injected repeatedly because your body absorbs it. Is it worth the money. Take it from someone who has RUINED his own face. It is worth the extra time, effort and money. TRUST ME. I have nothing to gain but to save the unfortunate patient the kind of misery I've been through...
