Yes, even my wife, who has a BP of 106/65, often feels her heart beating when she's laying down on the bed getting ready to go to sleep. If you're laying on your back, sometimes you can see your stomache moving with each heart beat. If it's really jumping high than it probably means the blood pressure is high. At least that's the case for me anyway.

Keep in mind, it's the "pulse pressure" that you are going to tend to feel. This is the difference between the two numbers. For example, someone who has a "normal" BP of 115/65 (PP=50) is more likely to experience palpitations than someone with a high BP of 150/120 (PP=30).
