Prevpac

Has anyone taken PREVPAC? This is my second day and I don't think I can take it anymore. I feel sick - severe headache, nausea, horrible taste in my mouth, general overall feeling of beng sick. Is there anything that reduces the side effects? I can't believe I have 12 more days to go.

Re: Prevpac

i took the prevpac last march..it was horrible and i had to go and to london while on the prevpac..make sure you take proboitics with it! cause ive been having so many problems that have stemmed from taking those antibodics..i am only 95 lbs and my body just couldnt take it..my doctor thinks i have IBS now cause of it..but i dont think so, i think my body is trying to just get back its normal bacteria..The nausea and stuff goes away after a while cause i think your body gets used to it. Hang it there you can do it!

Re: Prevpac

This is my first day, I tested positive for Helicobacter pylori. The doctor prescribed the treatment of the 8 pills a day for 14 days of PEVPAC and then 30 days of taking PREVACID only. So far no problem but have only taken 4 pills this morning.

Hope you find something to help.

Re: Prevpac

Thanks. I took the pills this morning and I haven't had a problem, just feel tired. I'm wondering if there is food you should avoid when taking the antibiotics. I had cheese after I took the pills and then later ice cream. I thought I read somewhere that milk products shouldn't be combined with antibiotics? Mary

Re: Prevpac

Glad you're better.

I also have read that Orange Juice and milk should be avoided when taking antibiotics. The juice's acidity decreases the effectiveness of antibiotics, as does milk.
