Well, since I have "white coat hypertension" whenever I take my BP at home these days, I decided to try something out: I told my wife to start taking my BP daily and frequently and to not tell me the numbers. I figured that the mere anxiety from taking the readings themselves was causing my numbers to be high and, to make things worse, focusing on the numbers contributed to the anxiety even more. So, after several readings in a day, it got so frequent that it got comfortable and I didn't care about it after a while. She took many readings yesterday and today she had to tell me what they were as they were really good: about half where in the low =>120/80 range while the other half were in the <120/80 range. The lowest reading was 111/68!
So, this is just more proof that I cause my BP to spike and don't have a high BP problem per se! Once I got desensitized to taking the readings, my anxiety went down and, hence, so did my BP.
