Post Don't have Fat Sucked from Face during Facelift

I read somewhere on this Board that certain doctor[s] are removing fat from the face for a sculpted look during a facelift. My plastic surgeon [one of the best] says never, never, remove fat from a person's face [obviously he's not talking about under chin]. As we get older the cheeks get sunken without that fat [especially slim/medium built women over 50]. Ladies, we need the fat in our faces; it should not be liposuctioned out of our cheeks; too many problems later. I just wanted to post this [my doctor's opinion and he did a great job on me]because I think it's important.

Thumbs up

Joy - VERY good post. Thank you. My own PS is against this, as well.

Joy, who is your doctor. I want one that thinks that way. I have heard over and over in the past years, ever since this idea of removing fat from cheeks, that it is not a good idea. I hear it is better to have it and that it can be repositioned at a higher part on the face which looks nicer.

My PS is Dr. Eugene Strasser Coral Springs, Florida [near Ft. Lauderdale/Pompano]. He would never take fat from anybody's cheeks. That's a no-no.

I know some people recommend against having facial fact removed at all. But surely this depends on how much fat you had in your face to begin with?

Although facial fat reduces with age, some people will always have too much - so some removal of facial fat would be acceptable.

Many credible Drs perform this procedure, so I don't believe it is never justified.
