Retin-A micro?

I just started using retin-a micro and was wondering what other people had to say about it (I only used it once so far). I have been using Green cream already for almost 2 months (which is a retinol), so I think my face is prepared a little bit. My derm told me to start out 2 times a week and use the green cream on the other nights. So far just a little flaky skin, but nothing bad. I'm also using clindagel in the a.m.
I'm hoping to eventually ween myself off of the clindagel once I get clear. But I think I can just keep using the retin-a mico because it is also good for marks and decreasing wrinkles.
I was wondering how it helped with acne, the old acne marks, hyperpigmentation, and wrinkles?
Any comments would be very appreciated.

Wink Re: Retin-A micro?

Hi there -

I have been using Retin A micro for almost a year. Last year my oily yet normally pretty clear skin went through this crazy 3-month breakout. Usually OTC spot treatments kept things in check, but this time my chest, back and face were covered in acne! It was awful, first I was diagnosed with folliculitus and then was told what was on my face was acne. I tried many meds, both topical and antibiotics. My chest and back eventually cleared up with antibiotics and I continue to use Retin A on my face. At first, it made my face quite red, tender, and flaky. Like all acne meds, it does take a good number of weeks to see the results but it does work so be patient. Now I use it every other night or less and it keeps my skin clear and smooth with very little dryness, and I have no fine lines anymore. It is important to only use the tiny amount like the leaflet specifies!!! That's all you need. Any more and you will be red and flaking for a week AND, always use a sunscreen.
Take care!

Re: Retin-A micro?

Hi,there! I've used Retin-a Micro for over a year with good results! You really have to hang in there and use it as the Doc tells you. It takes a few weeks for it to "kick in"--BUT once it does, it's sooo worth it! I know that some people have had some problems with some of the side effects. My skin must be VERY tough! I've never had reddness, very little peeling and no major problems! All I can say is--it works for some people, some not! The only way to see if it works for you is to try it out and stick with it! It does help fade the red marks and the "clogged" pores(bumps under the skin). I, for one, am very happy with my Retin-a and plan to stick with it!! Good Luck and let us know how it goes for you!
