Swollen Nose

According to my doctor my nose is 80% blocked. When I went in there it actually felt open too so that is really wierd that it was that swollen. Anyway I am supposed to take Nasacort, claritin, mucinix, and some eye drops. He also said that if that doesnt work I should get allergy shots. Anyone else here had a really irrated swollen nose and what did you use that helped? thanks.

Re: Swollen Nose

Your blocked nose may be due to allergies. Let me know about all the symptoms you have besides your blocked nose. If the only symptom is a blocked nose and difficulty breathing through it then it might be possible you suffer from swollen turbinates and to correct that problem you have to get a procedure called somnoplasty. Next time you see your doctor ask him about this procedure. It's not invasive and local anesthesia is used in the process. I suffer from the same symptoms. I got the procedure done almost a month ago. I feel a little better although the doctor tells me to expect complete relief in about two more months.
