Does cheap treadmill worth the trouble?

I would love to have a treadmill but can't affort the pricey one. I only want a treadmill for walking and don't care all those fancy electronics display and extra features. Walmart is running a clearance on Image 10.0 treadmill for $250 now. Does anyone have one of this and provide some real life comment. If you believe the reviews found in the internet, it appears anything less than $1000 is not worth the trouble. but then those reviews sound like infomacial (sp?). I would also conside other treadmill less than $500, any suggestion?

Re: Does cheap treadmill worth the trouble?

At end of April we purchased a Sportcraft treadmill from Walmart for just under $300.
Like you, I wanted something for walking when the weather is uncooperative.
So far, we have had no problems.

I'd go for it. 10 years ago my mom had health problems, so my dad went to Zellers (Canadian Target/Wal Mart) and bought a treadmill. She still uses it, never had a problem and uses it almost every day. It was around 200 Canadian. I think you'll be fine. Good luck!

Re: Does cheap treadmill worth the trouble?

I can't say about walmart but we bought ours at sears, we was able to get a 3 year extended, which is a good thing, since the book that came with it didn't show everything and we ended up damaging it the technition didn't get mad because I showed him the book and he said it was stupid for them not to show where all the nuts are and to now advise you on how to move it without breaking the plastic parts and the bolts that held the lid,

with this extended warranty we get once a year total inspection and adjustments and mainteance care, the technition told me the first to go is the tread and it costs 80 dollars for it plus installation, of course I run on mine, if all you want to do it walk a cheapie is probably fine.

Save your money and go outside. Treadmills are a complete waste of money. The world is your treadmill, and it has limitless options(speed, inclines, declines, different surfaces). And as an added bonus, even the options are free. The only thing you have to pay for is the shoes, which you would need for the treadmill anyway.
