Post calorie cutting

I have been cutting my caloric intake to lose weight and it seems to be working. My question is, how many calories (on average) should a 165 lb, moderately active woman cut back to in order to lose weight. i have read a lot of different books and all of them give different numbers. I know that the lowest safe amount is 1200....thats all the books seem to agree on. any help would be appreciated

a good rule of thumb is

lighty active woman( sits most of day - no exercise) multiply your weight by 12

moderately active woman( on feet most of day - exercise 4-5 times a week) multiply your weight by 14 to get calories needed.

OR you can do a search on caloric needs caluclator, i use google and you will find a bunch of online ones.

have a great day
