Kariva-skipped last week, started new pack

Last Month I was going on vacation the week of my last week of pills and after consulting with my pharmacist I decided to skip the last week of pills and start a new pack so I wouldnt have a period on my vacation. It kind of worked as I had very very little bleeding for a day or two.
Now this month I am on the 3rd day of my last week, havent started a period yet. I am cramping a little. Has anyone else done this? Have I just totally messed up my hormones??

It's likely that your cycle is a little out of whack from skipping your period last month. If you don't get your period by the time you are to start a new pack of pills, take a pregnancy test (assuming that you're sexually active).

Re: Kariva-skipped last week, started new pack

isn't kariva the generic for mircette? and i think mircette is a biphasic pill. skipping periods is recommended for monophasic pills not triphasic pills (i don't know about skipping period on biphasic pills). i did {removed} and it said that the last five pills of the pack contain a small amount of hormones. i sucessfully skipped my period using yasmin. no spotting at all. the only thing was the following month i got my period a few hours later than usual. last month i switched from yasmin to diane-35 then decided to skip my period after the diane-35 pack. i switched back to yasmin and took the yasmin directly after finishing the diane-35 pack. it probably wasn't the best thing to do but so far no problems at all.
