Dr. Tseng Visit - Red Veins

Hey guys...well I posted before about How i used to wear contacts for only 1 and a half years and how I developed the red veins in both my eyes...and how my eyes used to burn like anything and how the red veins kept on growing more and more...anyways...I payed a visit to Dr. Tseng in Miami...and my tear production was good..but he said..that the red veins were becoming more seen and my eyes were burning more and more..due to exposure...cause I have big eyes...he said..what he could do...is a surgery where he would kind of bring the lids up..and make my eyes a little smaller...and he said...this would help the problem...and the tears would not evaporate as quickly..and he would also permanently close my lower tear ducts..I was so worried and this is stresssing me out way too much...and he said the veins will go away also....he put me on some non preservative steroid drops just to see what would happen...and the drops helped a little..but when i got outside when the wind was blowing or anything..forget it....my eyes would burn like crazy...he said...that the inflamattion was due to exposure...and now I am thinking about getting the surgery which is around 5000$ US....I am so worried..becuase I dont want to get the surgery and still have this problem.and im worried that it will change the way I look..what do u guys think...any opinions....??

Thanks

Hi, I was wondering if you went through with the surgery? I am going to visit Dr.Tseng next month for pinguecula. I am nervous but he comes highly recommended. Were you pleased with your visit?

Re: Dr. Tseng Visit - Red Veins

Hey...I did not go through with the surgery yet, because Dr. Tseng saw that I was really worried and nervous about it..so he wanted to make sure I was really comfortable with getting the surgery done...Dr. Tseng wanted to try a new drop he just made for Red Eyes without the rebound redness...so I'm gonna try that first...these red veins don't seem to stop growing and im worried sick...but...you have nothing to worry about...I was very very pleased with the visit...the secretary "jackie" is extremely helpful and they will cater to your needs...when i went in July I was nervous but very happy to finally meet Dr. Tseng...everyone that comes in and out of the office always leaves with a smile on their face..at first...one of his staff will look at your eyes to see what's up and will do additional tests if necessary....and Dr. Tseng will also look at you and talk to you...he is a very compasionate doctor and you will see that yourself...I have emailed him numerous times and talked to him many times over the phone...and he is always there to answer your questions...best of luck to you...and I hope everything works out for the best

hey sorry for the late reply..was having cpu problems lately...the drops helped a little..but when I got outside..forget it..my eyes burned like anything...and I have opted for the Boston Sceleral lens..for my dry eyes...I felt that the surgery wouldnt really help...and everyone else told me to go for it..
