If you have a codeine allergy, there's a chance that you'll have a reaction to the hydrocodone in Vicodin.

Re: vicodin

Vicodin is a combo of codeine & tylenol, so if you are allergic to codeine, stay away from it.

Re: vicodin

vicodin IS NOT a combo of codiene and tylenol.it is not even a true opiate. Its a man made synthetic narcotic and is not in any way related to codiene.sorry Hella, I am not trying to make you a poster child for bad advice, but just wanted to point out the importance of asking your pharmacist about any possible med interaction or allergy issues mostly because,if you are given advice from anywhere else,it may not be correct and in this type of situation it could be deadly.though in this particular situation, hella told you to stay away from it.which was right on.the only person I( would really truely trust to ask these types of questions would be my pharmacist, honestly, not even my doc.though alot of docs 'think" they know it all, they don't.There is just no way that any dr can possibly know all there is to know about all the meds and the possible reactions and side effects they carry. The pharms know this stuff as it is there job to know.if they do not know something off the top of their head they have tons of info availiable litterally at their fingertips.

i think the intent of this particular board is more to discuss your particular reactions to meds you have taken,to compare notes...i would never ever take someones advice regarding whether or not to actually take certain meds togethefrom any net site ever as you just do not know the validity of the source.I am in no way trying to slam you here Hella, really, just trying to point out the need to actually see or call your pharm when it comes to possible drug interactions,if the advice is not correct it could actually cause you great harm and possibly a life threatening or even deadly allergic type of reaction.K?hope I did not hurt your feelings hella i know the advice was given with good intent.FB
