Hey siscokid1,
I know exactly where you're at. I'm not working right now and have no insurance either.
In your heart you have valves between the chambers of the heart and also where the blood come into and goes out of the heart. MVP is when the mitral valve doesn't close completely. It's a condition that if minimal is treated with different meds, the usual one is Atenolol. There is a hugh percentage of women 25-45 have it and never even know it. My MVP is so slight that you can't hear any abnormal heart sounds and the ultrasound/sonar will only show it if I'm sitting up and leaning to the left. Wierd. My only symptoms were palpitations and squeezing pain into neck. Scared the crap out of me. Severe cases have to have surgery and have a value replacement put it. The docs used Pig valves at one time (valves from real pigs...lol). I've been on Atenolol for many, many years and rarely have any symptoms. If you don't stop having the symptoms as time goes on and you are further out with clean time from drugs, etc. I would find a free clinic or medicaid services. If you got really sick with it, go to the ER. It's against the law for them to turn you away due to lack of insurance. Of course you will be responsible for the huge bill. ugh!!! You said you have tachycardia which will give you the same symptoms you describe. Do yo take any meds for your tachy or CHF?
Hope you feel better this morning.
