ok, Here goes. I have been put on Prevacid and Zelnorm after the CT scan came back with severe congestion and red throat etc. I have been told it is acid reflux. I have had some bad anxiety in the last few months. Not sure if the anxiety is more or less now knowing what the problem is. I have been to numerous doctors and this one has came up with this. I have swelled eye lids. I complained about pain the back of the head where your sinus are. The DR said the acid comes up the throat and hitting the back of the throat and this is why the sinus are inflamed. I do belch alot when stressed out. The prevacid is 2x a day along with the zelnorm. I feel better half the day and feel somewhat normal. Does anyone have theses problems and think the panic attack thing can cause the Gerds. Thanks and appreciate the help
Anxiety can cause major flair ups for anyone prone to GERD etc. Alongside a bad diet it's one of the major causes of Gastro problems outside mechanical issues.
I was officially diagnosed with Gerd 3 months ago and from what I can see, it can cause or mimick so many other problems its unreal. It appears that it can affect almost anything or its a easy explanation for docs to give us., My symptons "a few", stomach, head, throat, chest pain, arm pain, shoulder pain, sinus, breathing, I would swear I was going to die at times. Hiya ..I suffer with gerd and had a severe case of esophagitis about 3 months ago..although the gerd seems to be under control for now ever since that bad attack my lymph nodes are still swollen ..the gland on the right side of my neck is up..I have pressure pain and dryness in my head ..my nose and my ears which sometimes burn also..sometimes i feel like i cant breathe properly I feel sure this is related to gerd and my severe attack has done damage but am awaiting a hospital appointment in a months time with an ENT specialist so I will probably know more then
